Happy George Washington’s birthday! Except, of course, it isn’t. George was born on Feb. 11, 1732, some 20 years before the nation adopted the Gregorian calendar, an update of the Julian calendar, an update that more accurately kept track of the moon and the stars and all the planets. On the new calendar, Feb. 11 became Feb. 22. Or something like that. Don’t you just love/hate the Internet?
