A pithy comic strip about life, love, lust and puthy cats.

Shotgun start

This 1989 strip, which I’m certain you’ve never seen before unless you saw it in 1989, is a rare two-panel A&J. I suppose a generation of children has come along not knowing the joy of screaming “shotgun,” since the air bag has forced children to the rear seats. Not only was this cartoon drawn before the era of air bags in all automobiles, it apparently shows Arlo and Gene not wearing even a safety belt. Young cartoonists soon learn to avoid such omissions, as they inevitably result in lectures from readers.
