These old cartoons can be tiny time capsules. Short hair on men, young and old, is more common today. Ten years ago (or a little more, as comics are often a little behind the curve), it was seen as more radical, a statement.

And what happened to “Leave It to Beaver?” I mean, what happened during the course of the original series? It actually was cute and clever at first, before it became what it became. That seemed to happen to a lot of television shows back then.
