I have always tried to avoid the obvious, observations that have been made so many times that, regardless of their validity, they have become predictable clichés: ideas such as, “Boy, teen-age boys sure do eat a lot!” Above is an exception, from this month in 2001. I think I got away with it all right, don’t you? if you think you have noticed a frequent reference to swatting flies in the A&J strips running in newspapers this summer, you’re not wrong. Flies are loving the stifling humidity of summer, 2013. We have a bumper crop in these parts. Where is a plague of frogs when you need it?
