Speaking of Camille, this was a shopping center until Hurricane Katrina arrived. It housed a grocery store, a drugstore, a sandwich shop, etc. It was built about 10 years ago, on what had been a vacant lot for over 25 years. It had been the site of the Richelieu Apartments, where 23 people died trying to ride out Hurricane Camille. Subsequent reports of a "hurricane party" were exaggerated. The building was considered sturdy.
