I believe KFC (ne Kentucky Fried Chicken) was the first to market chicken-wing snacks, or “Buffalo wings,” on a large scale. I remember my father scoffed at the concept. He said he was in the army for four years and never got a piece of chicken from the chow hall larger than a wing. He couldn’t understand the fuss.
I know I’ve been short-changing you on the daily dialog of late, but it’s been an uncommonly busy spring and summer this year. I’m glad you’re coming back every day, and increasing numbers, too. Thanks for all the kind words, although I do worry that some of you have an unrealistically high opinion of my work and of me, but, Hey! Who am I to argue with my guests?
One of these days–I promise–I’ll sit down and chat.
