This is pretty much what it comes down to. This is the museum's
bookstore, or part of it. It is full of "bande dessine," pronounced
sort of like "bohn dehsuhnay." These are elaborate books that tell
stories in a sequence of pictures and words. They're not exactly
like our comic books, but similar. Practically speaking, many of
them have the outward appearance of children's books in the U.S.,
but the content is fanciful and varied. People of all ages in France
and Europe, indeed in much of the world, enjoy this art form. |
