I’ve thought about this lately. Arlo still wears a tie to work, which is pretty much out of date in any professional environment these days. It does serve one important function, though. It lets you the reader know he’s getting ready to go to work or that he’s at work. I guess that means cartoon characters still are expected to wear ties to work.

Arrrrrrr….!! I near forgot! (Thankee, Tom, in Elizabethtown!) ‘Tis “Talk Like a Pirate Day!” I warrant, that albatross of a book has taken me mind off ever’thin’! Even booty! (OK, think Charles Laughton, not Buddy Ebsen.)
