I'm old. As a boy, I heard "pizza" referred to on television with regularity. I had never tasted or even seen a pizza. I asked my mother one night what pizza was. I don't believe she was certain herself, but she explained it was some sort of meat pie. All I could think of was chicken pot pie. Not long after that, the first pizza parlor opened in our town. Imagine my relief.
