Standing roughly where Martin Hardware was and looking southeast, this is Russell's Service Center, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Owners Tom and Alice Russell long ago made the decision not to convert their full-service gas station into one of those "food marts." I can't begin to name all the family members who worked there, doing everything from replacing timing belts to pumping gas. Pass Christian really was that kind of place.
