I don’t know about you, but I’m enjoying the tree sequence from 2009 that is being repeated in newspapers this week. In case you’re wondering, I did not choose the cartoons currently appearing. My editor, friend and deadline tormentor Reed Jackson chose them, after I wimped out. I don’t necessarily want to get into Reed’s business, but I don’t think he’ll mind me telling you that he is one of few holdovers from United Media. He and his young family remain in New York City, but soon they will make a move to Kansas City, where Universal Uclick—which now distributes A&J—is located. We can all count ourselves lucky that Reed still is around. He has always been a friend of Arlo and Janis.
