Aug 17th 2012 07:37 am The Gene Album V

The closing ceremony is upon us; our Gene Olympiad is coming to an end with today’s 10 classic cartoons from 1992. You don’t have to suffer withdrawal, though. Come back to arloandjanis.com every day during the week for an Arlo & Janis cartoon from the past and other activities. Extinquish the torch! Furl the flags! The official proceedings are concluded, but stick around: the Rolling Stones and Elton John will be along any minute now.

The only issue that I have about Janis waking up Gene is that in real life, she would have used his middle name. On Sunday mornings, when I was not up for chruch, she would peek in my room and say STEVEN ARTHUR…..GET UP NOW!!!!!

    I miss that :-(

  2. Dave in MA on 17 Aug 2012 at 7:57 am #

….. except in the U.S. where NBC will opt to show you a pilot episode of a new TV sitcom instead of the world famous musicians. Oh yeah, they’ll air those old fogeys after midnight even though it’s a work night for most people.

  3. Dave in MA on 17 Aug 2012 at 7:57 am #

Steve from Royal Oak, no everyone has a middle name. I’m just sayin’………

  4. buzz on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:00 am #

Is 1992-03-07-cork the first time you “pulled an Arlo”?

  5. phil in Missoula, MT on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:07 am #

Middle names are give to children so that they may gauge the ire of the parent’s anger.

J.J., thanks for the great week of archive overload. You da’ (scan)man!

  7. Maggie in Michigan on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:27 am #

Lots of fun to read. Also fun to watch the hairstyles–I see the brush cut didn’t last too long.

  8. Jeff in Ann Arbor on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:27 am #

What Tom said. Thanks for all the scanning work. Now I’ll have to go read Beaucoup Arlo and Janis to taper off and avoid withdrawal.

  9. Galliglo in Ohio on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:34 am #

Gee… three different hairstyles for Gene in one year! As I mentioned on the A&J Facebook page, I don’t know where I was during the A&J early years – all of these are new to me.

But, oh what a treasure! Seeing the development of the drawing… hearing (or rather, seeing!) those universally human comments come out of the mouths of cartoon characters… it is like leafing through a photo album of old and dear friends whom you did not know in their/our youth…

    Thanks, JJ…

Great series, but I always figured Jimmy Buffet would be part of the closing ceremonies…

Great week. Love Gene’s hair. The young boys around here often have creative hair for the summer. Thanks, JJ. Enjoy the weekend!

JJ you are the best, what a great retrospective….now if only we can get the Janis bathing suit retrospective; Oh but then the inmates at the zoo would get out of control!

Love to visit here, it is the best part of my mornings. With that and a wonderful day in store here in Bryant Pond, Maine I am Symply Fargone.

Interesting hair style Gene had that summer. I’m glad he got rid of the bristle look.

John, Would that be Alley Oop Oop? Oop. Oop Oop. Holywood Argyles, although I liked the Beach Boys version better. Best last name-the Lockhorns.

  24. Blinky the Wonder Wombat on 17 Aug 2012 at 10:40 am #

Speaking of summer hair cuts, when I was Gene’s age in these strips I couldn’t wait for summer so I could get a “buzz cut”. I didn’t care about how it looked, but I loved the process.

  25. Jerry in Fl on 17 Aug 2012 at 10:43 am #

    Hollywood. Spellcheck is Snafu.

  26. Woodrowfan on 17 Aug 2012 at 10:50 am #

does Gene have a middle name? or is it unknown, like the name of Louann’s older sister!

My Dad went by his middle name, but I suspect all that meant was when my grandmother was mad at him then she used his first name!

  27. Steve from Royal Oak, MI on 17 Aug 2012 at 11:04 am #

I think Louann’s older sister married Richie Cunningham’s older borther and they moved to a remote desert island.

HC – 1991-02-27 : “uh huh… You were just sitting here, and it spilled all by itself !”

Where might we view this strip?

  29. Dave in MA on 17 Aug 2012 at 11:26 am #

Woodrow fan. My uncle used to go by his middle name. Later in life he used his first initial, and his full middle name.

And while we’re on that topic, Paul McCartney uses his middle name too. His given name is James Paul McCartney.

  30. Mindy on 17 Aug 2012 at 11:44 am #

Jimmy, I’ve enjoyed the entire week but I have to agree with Will, today’s is the best batch of all! But, champagne corks in the bathtub? Although that really is a story for yet another day, you HAVE been peeking! And the sledgehammer segment…how’d you know that I once asked John where the sledgehammer was, he said he didn’t know, and I responded, “I think you do”? This is unnerving! I love it! Steve from Royal Oak and Phil in Missoula, when I was growing up, I used to think my middle name was Dammit. Dad was always saying, “Mindy Dammit!”

And Simply Fargone, I bet the bathing suit sequence you want involved skimpy two-piece outfits, right?

  31. Blinky the Wonder Wombat on 17 Aug 2012 at 11:58 am #

My favorite quote from a Janis bathing suit strip: “Things change”.

  33. John in Indiana on 17 Aug 2012 at 12:48 pm #

Thanks so much for the cartoons this week. I wasn’t around for those early years and have enjoyed seeing the young Gene. You do good work.

  34. John in Virginia on 17 Aug 2012 at 1:01 pm #

I can really relate to Gene’s up-in-the-morning grumbling. I’ve spent a great portion of my working life doing the 2300-0700 shift {with lots of overtime} but I never have been a “morning person.” To me, Heaven is sleeping until Noon. Around here, Heaven is well out of my grasp. Mindy, on the other hand, gets out of bed running and as soon as her pretty little feets hit the floor she’s chattering away…I want to scream. {She’s fully aware of this, accepts our cyclic differences with a shrug since mine are irrelevant.} If God had meant for me to get out of bed early He’d have made me a rooster.

  35. Steve from Royal Oak, MI on 17 Aug 2012 at 2:17 pm #

I hate to bring up the CPAC again, but ever since I started using it 18 months ago, I am much more awake in the morning. Of course if I don’t go to bed early enough, then I am still a little sleepy. I am still pretty quiet in the morning.

  36. John on 17 Aug 2012 at 2:36 pm #

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

To back up to yesterday’s discussion of school cafeteria food, and to recall other favorite comics, in “Calvin and Hobbes,” Calvin says that the cafeteria lunch “Appears to be cigar butts in a gallstone sauce,” at which point Susie Derkins points out, loudly, that “That’s Beany-Weenies!”.

(Had to look that up in my hard copy collection at home, and how’s that for another comic character surname?)

Another hot Friday afternoon, so it’s off in search for a cool amber beverage to be consumed cold, yet is not mead.

  40. Charlotte in NH on 17 Aug 2012 at 3:58 pm #

This nugget just popped spontaneously out of my memory: the comic strip Priscilla’s Pop, in the 40′s and 50′s; was a family story quite comparable to Arlo and Janis — sweeter flavored and not so complex, but more cerebral than many. Priscilla’s Pop’s name was Waldo Nutschell. This has always tickled me, and still does.

  41. Mark in Boston on 17 Aug 2012 at 4:28 pm #

Kings, queens, princes and princesses often have a lot of middle names. When the Queen wants to wake up her son, it takes a long time to say his names, particularly if she adds all his titles.

  42. Charlotte in NH on 17 Aug 2012 at 5:00 pm #

Dave in MA, I did not ignore your kind offer on August 14 to help with my old color slides. I replied on the same day, but it was late at night and you probably didn’t see it. It is the very last comment on that day, and I addressed a couple of other people with comments they probably didn’t see either. That will teach me to get to this site earlier in the day, like now, or even in the morning (gasp!) so I can be part of the dialogue. Anyhow, I am going away for Sunday and Monday and will get back to you on return. I am going to Southwestern Vermont for a family get-together and am rather nervous about the long drive; but one of our five beautiful daughters is going with me and we will share the driving. Thanks again for your offer — it is really too good of you. We’ll see.

  43. Mindy on 17 Aug 2012 at 5:06 pm #

Ghost, see the second stip in today’s string. Details to still remain a story for yet another day. At least here. Perhaps Janis will talk, but I doubt it.

  44. Mark in TTown on 17 Aug 2012 at 5:27 pm #

Ah yes. The falling bed. What an experience! But not a story for another day.
And then there was James Thurber’s story, “The Night the Bed Fell On Father”, classic humor!
The best bed strip I recall in A&J was when Gene ran into their room and found both of them standing on the bed having a pillow fight.
Thank you for all your hard work, Jimmy. It is greatly appreciated!

  45. Dan in SWMo on 17 Aug 2012 at 5:32 pm #

Whether Gene has a middle name or not, I would hazard a guess that his first name is actually Eugene, so I could see Janis using that when she’s exasperated with him.

  46. Bob, near Mark on 17 Aug 2012 at 5:41 pm #

    Dan in SWMo,

There was a somewhat obnoxious child named Eugene in our neighborhood some years ago. Some folks derisively called him “Gene-u”.

The late Ernie Kovacs had a character named Eugene in one of the last programs he did before his death.

    @Mindy,

re bathing suits and Janis….I just like the look on Arlo’s face when she wears them…hate the paper cuts though ;-) Besides Janis can still rock the two piece.

For the record my favorite strip is not a bathing suit strip, it is one I now own, thanks to JJ. http://www.arloandjanis.com/sofa-drink.gif I love this!

  51. Anonymous on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:37 pm #

Names: Isn’t Born Loser’s boss named Rancid W. Veeblefester? That rolls nicely off my tongue.

Names, again: One of my grandfathers was born (in Germany) with the name Friedrich Wilhelm S——. When he immigrated, he Anglicized the name and also reversed the first two into William Frederick S——-. I found this odd, but then I found that his brother had done the very same thing.

Names, even yet again: A grandmother, wife of the above, was baptized with the name Anna Rosa Babette S——-, but absolutely none of us ever knew of that “Anna” part. It was a baptismal name, not usually used again. She was known to all as Rosa Babette S——. Having such a baptismal name was apparently a common thing in the Germanic part of the world. I found out about the “Anna” when I found her Confirmation gift of a Bible, and it had her name imprinted on its cover. Since it was given by a relative, I figure the name was correct.

  52. sandcastler on 17 Aug 2012 at 8:51 pm #

GR6, think Mindy was implying he had been fishing in the tub. Since it appears she had no little worm she had to use a bobber.

  53. Mark in TTown on 17 Aug 2012 at 10:25 pm #

Sandcastler, I almost fell off my chair when I read about the little worm and bobber!

Someone asked yesterday about single-name comic characters. I think Johnny Hart must have the record there. Both BC and The Wizard of Id are filled with characters with a single name.

  54. Ghost Rider 6 on 17 Aug 2012 at 11:36 pm #

sandcastler: I wouldn’t touch that line with a ten-inch pole.

  55. Boise Ed on 18 Aug 2012 at 12:06 am #

I’m with you, Ghost Rider 6 (17 Aug 2012 at 3:24 pm). Champagne is so sticky, I can hardly think of a worse thing to bathe in.

  56. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:02 am #

Apparently, finding strange items in odd places is something that happens frequently in the Day household…corks in the bathtub, handcuff keys in the bedroom…

I mentioned recently that there was another A&J cartoon I felt ranked right up there with some of the more famous (notorious?) ones. See what you think. From Janis’s expression in panel 4, I think this may illustrate something that also happens frequently in the Day household.

  57. sandcastler on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:53 am #

GR6, had there been a ten-inch pole….. never mind, story for another day.

  58. Jean in Dahlonega Ga aka Trapper Jean on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:14 am #

Blinky and Bob, near Mark, why do people still make fun of the name Eugene? My Dad was Eugene, and thus I am Eugenia. And yes, I have a middle name. That is from my Mom’s brother, and we’ll save it for another conversation.

As to the champagne cork in the bathtub, I just figured Ludwig had been playing with it. My cats love to play with wine bottle corks. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

  59. Symply Fargone on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:27 am #

    @GR6,

I think I find this strip very appealing too…..can’t put my finger on it and can’t see why either, but I do like it. Must be Symply Fargone!

  60. Symply Fargone on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:31 am #

Oh, btw my Mom did not like my grandfathers middle name so instead of being Ernest Philippe, I became Philippe Ernest, prefer Philippe as a first name, but the spelling issue was immense. Then just last year at age 55 I find my birth certificate and not only is my first name misspelled but my father’s birth date is wrong(or else M & P told me the wrong spelling and celebrated Pap’s birthday on the wrong day….hmmmmm, I’ll have to ask Mom about this, but she’ll probably plead a Mindy….too Fargone…

  61. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:42 am #

Yeah, right, Ludwig did it! That’s the ticket! He probably hid the key, too.

  62. Bob, near Mark on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:57 am #

    Trapper Jean,
I think you’ll find that many more folks use the name Bob for humorous characters.

For example, have you ever seen an Enzyte commercial?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYuBDIWpvT4

    :)

  63. Galliglo in Ohio on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:19 am #

Charlotte in NH: I remember Priscilla’s Pop. Don’t remember their names… only that he took mashed potato sandwiches to work – just until they paid off the mortgage.

  64. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:36 am #

Trapper: Wish I’d met a six foot tall redhead named Eugenia who once wore dress sandals with five-inch heels. [I don’t know how I remember these things. :) ]

Did anyone else think that “Smilin’ Bob” was one creepy dude? As for Enzyte, P. T. Barnum would have been very proud.

I agree with RedagainPatti, this has been a scintillating week. And, now to decompress with a few pages of ‘Beaucoup A&J’. Thank you, JJ and I hope this blog has picked up a couple of dozen new ‘regulars’.

  66. Mindy on 18 Aug 2012 at 11:49 am #

Always have spare handcuff key[s] within easy reach.

    I read that sometwhere.

And forget I even said anything about champagne corks even though said corks in the bathtub was the focal point of comic strip #2. I can’t believe…

  67. Boise Ed on 18 Aug 2012 at 11:59 am #

Bob, near Mark: I do my best not to.

  68. Charlotte in NH on 18 Aug 2012 at 12:06 pm #

Galliglo, good for you, remembering the Nutschell family. I had forgotten the mashed potato sandwiches!

  69. Charlotte in NH on 18 Aug 2012 at 12:12 pm #

Mark in TTown, you are so right about BC and The Wizard of Id. Every character has just one name, and the cartoonist cleverly makes it work very well. I was wondering about Tumbleweeds, too. Will give this more thought. Thank you for clueing me in on the name of your town, also. Interesting!

  70. Bob, near Mark on 18 Aug 2012 at 3:05 pm #

    Charlotte in NH,
Tumbleweeds had Judge Horatio Curmudgeon Frump, the Texas lawman Quiet Burp, undertaker Claude Clay, Hildegarde Hamhocker, Colonel G. Armageddon Fluster, Bucolic Buffalo (a member of the Poohawk tribe), outlaw Snake-Eye McFoul, and others.

BC had Clumsy Carp, and a couple of un-PC names for the female characters.

In The Wizard of I, Rodney’s full name was Sir Rodney the Chicken-Hearted. There was also Attorney Larsen E. Pettifogger. “The King is a fink!”

  71. Bob, near Mark on 18 Aug 2012 at 3:05 pm #

Sorry, NOT the Wizard of I, but the Wizard of Id.

  72. Jerry in Fl on 18 Aug 2012 at 4:19 pm #

From film I remember Trockmorton P. Gildersleeve. Totally unrelated-my cats would wake me up when they were kittens with cries of “meeelk”, I kid you not, but after a short time they stopped drinking milk. They will only drink water now, although in this hot weather they do appreciate a couple of ice cubes in it. I was drinking a glass of milk a few minutes ago and turned my back on the glass. Cilla licked up a little milk and almost immediately began throwing up. Are some cats allergic to milk? She does enjoy a small squirt of Reddiwhip on a platter and that doesn’t bother her.
I have been watching WWII films on History 2 and again I’m amazed at young men jumping off of landing craft knowing that they would most likely die in a few seconds. My most difficut day in the military was waiting all day for an airplane in Hattiesburg, MS in a terminal about the size of a 10 x 50 singlewide. I remember as a kid in the 50′s watching glider training and seeing the double fuselage, square shaped bombers flying over. I’ve seen them in the WWII films also. Does anyone know what kind of plane that was and why did they build such an odd shaped plane?

  73. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 5:57 pm #

Jerry, I’m an aircraft buff, also. (No, Mindy, that doesn’t mean I fly naked. Well, not often, anyway.) The first thing your description brings to mind is the Fairchild C-119 Flying Boxcar. The USAF started flying them around 1950. While they didn’t actually have a double fuselage, they did have a twin tail boom, much like the P-38 Lightning. That allowed the entire rear of the fuselage to be one big door, which made them easy to load with cargo. There are several pictures of that aircraft online you can google.

  74. Jerry in Fl on 18 Aug 2012 at 6:06 pm #

That doesn’t sound like the plane that I remember. The Messerschmitt T109 had the right shape but it was a USAF plane and bigger.

  75. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:04 pm #

The only true twin fuselage aircraft I can remember ever being in service with US forces was the North American F-82 Twin Mustang, which was basically two P-51 Mustangs fused into a single aircraft. I believe it was the last piston engine fighter the US built.

  76. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:09 pm #

The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was a WWII four engine bomber with twin vertical stabilizers and a fuselage with a square shape. Could that be it?

  77. Mindy on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:51 pm #

It was an alien space craft.

  78. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 7:53 pm #

    With nude alien pilots.

  79. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 8:04 pm #

Alien lands, walks up to a gas pump and says, “Take me to your leader.” When he gets no response, he says, “Hey, buddy, don’t just stand there with your thumb in your ear, take me to your leader!”

  80. sandcastler on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:09 pm #

GR6, don’t fort the twin boom P38. Probably made most famous by Maj. Richard Bong, MH winner. He was brought back to States and dies in a crash of an early jet prototype in either ’44 or early ’45.

  81. sandcastler on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:10 pm #

    Forget

  82. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:26 pm #

USAAF P-38′s were also the aircraft that shot down the Japanese bomber carrying Admiral Yamamoto, Imperial Japanese Navy Commander in Chief, in 1943. Sort of a predecessor of what USAF drones are doing in certain parts of the world now.

  83. Mark in TTown on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:41 pm #

  84. Mark in TTown on 18 Aug 2012 at 9:54 pm #

Jerry in FL, here is another possibility. The Wikipedia article says it was designed and used as a glider tow, among other things.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_C-82_Packet

  85. Mark in Boston on 18 Aug 2012 at 10:02 pm #

Ghost Rider, I heard it as: Alien lands, goes up to a gas pump, says “Take me to your leader”, gets no response, goes back to space ship, reports to home planet, “Not only are Earthlings unfriendly, but you wouldn’t believe what they put in their ears!”

  86. Charlotte in NH on 18 Aug 2012 at 10:32 pm #

Bob, near Mark — Nice going with all the comic strip names. A special award for Bucolic Buffalo — a truly unique Poohawk.

  87. Ghost Rider 6 on 18 Aug 2012 at 10:57 pm #

Right, Mark; that was the family-friendly version. Actually, both “thumb” and “ear” are interchangeable with other body parts, which can yield some, ah, interesting combinations.

  88. sandcastler on 19 Aug 2012 at 7:12 am #

Loving Arlo’s Sunday take on “Therefore I am.”

  89. Jean in Dahlonega Ga aka Trapper Jean on 19 Aug 2012 at 9:05 am #

Bob, near Mark- in the short lived tv series “Eerie, Indiana” on one episode there’s an entire family with the middle name Bob, and in the end credits every cast and crew member have Bob in their names. And yes, I remember the Enzyte commercials well. Not only did no-one end up in bathtubs in strange places but that poor wife had a look of frozen terror on her face.

Ghost Rider 6- I think I love you!

Just for conversation’s sake, I rather like the gull-wing Corsairs that Pappy Voyington’s Black Sheep Squadron flew.

Sorry, that would be Pappy Greg Boyington. I saw the slip just as it was too late to correct it.

    Trapper Jean,
The problem in a lot of those commercials was that they had one too many bathtubs. :)

  92. Symply Fargone on 19 Aug 2012 at 9:39 am #

Re, today’s strip, when our software dept. had a huge new release that they had been working on for a while we came out with the shirts that read “IP therefore I am” (for the untech among us IP=Internet Protocol)for a logo…they were very popular…..and just a little Fargone. Descarte’s is trembling or he’s surfing the net and didn’t even notice.

  93. Mindy on 19 Aug 2012 at 11:00 am #

The P-38 that shot down Yamamoto was truly Magic, Ghost. :)

Sandcastler, Arlo’s last name is not “Day.” It’s “Descartes.” Renee Arlo Descartes. Only that sounds too French.

Mindy, paraphrasing Judge Lucy Kho, “Are you smoking crack?”

  95. Ghost Rider 6 on 19 Aug 2012 at 11:27 am #

Come on, Eugenia. You know you do. :)

So then, Mindy, you don’t think that Janis has ever been known to “Seize the Day”?

  96. Mindy on 19 Aug 2012 at 12:29 pm #

Excellent pun, Ghost! And sandcastler totally lost me. Never mind, I quit.

  97. Mindy from Indy on 19 Aug 2012 at 12:29 pm #

Really @GR6!? bwhahahaha! How has that *not* been used before? (Or has it and I’ve just missed it?)

  98. Jerry in Fl on 19 Aug 2012 at 2:49 pm #

After researching all of the suggested aircraft, I have narrowed it down to only one possibility. The others were introduced too late to be in common use in WWII or, in the case of the P-61 was discontinued in all military use by 1954 when I was only 5 years old. -to be continued

  99. Ghost Rider 6 on 19 Aug 2012 at 3:07 pm #

Mindy and Mindy: Thank you for your continued support. ;)

  100. Jerry in Fl on 19 Aug 2012 at 3:57 pm #

Sorry. The boss called. As I was saying, the P38 was the only one that could have been the airplane that I remember seeing. Basically there were two types of aircraft that fit the bill, those that were two airplanes put together with two canopies and two pilots and those with one canopy in the middle and one pilot. It could be that I saw one and have seen another in WWII films, but who knows? If I had to say which plane that I was thinking of it would be the P38.

  101. sandcastler on 19 Aug 2012 at 6:01 pm #

P38: a WWII aircraft, a disposable can opener found in k-rays and c-rats, or a Walter pistol issued by the Germans during WWII.

  102. Bob, near Mark on 19 Aug 2012 at 6:37 pm #

    Sandcastler,

Walther P38, eh? James Bond carried a Walther PPK. I have a Walther KKM. Haven’t shot it in almost 20 years.

I also have the can opener. Don’t have the aircraft.

  103. sandcastler on 19 Aug 2012 at 7:14 pm #

Bob near Mark, better than me, only the can opener. The one on my keyring I got in Vietnam.

  104. Ghost Rider 6 on 19 Aug 2012 at 8:00 pm #

Lady Mindy, how’s the hair coming along?

  105. Jerry in Fl on 19 Aug 2012 at 8:02 pm #

Which reminds me, I still have a handcuff key on my keyring, just in case. And THAT reminds me of a favorite former girlfriend who had a cheap toy store pair of cuffs which we NEVER used, but I did confiscate, take to work and put them in my desk drawer. One day I decided to throw them away and I really had some questions to answer when someone saw them in the trashcan.

  106. Bob, near Mark on 19 Aug 2012 at 9:26 pm #

sandcastler, I carried one on my keychain for a few years, but stopped because it kept wearing holes in my pockets.

  107. Mark in TTown on 19 Aug 2012 at 9:44 pm #

If Jimmy ever decided to throw in a Medieval fantasy strip, it could be Days and Knights. If Gene installs a swimming pool at the farm, will it be a Gene pool? Just wondering.

  108. Dave in MA on 20 Aug 2012 at 6:44 am #

Charlotte in NH, I did see the response from you. Not to worry.

And I’ll be in Vermont (north western part, lake Champlain) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of this week.

Hope your Sunday and Monday was enjoyable. :)

  109. Jean in Dahlonega Ga aka Trapper Jean on 20 Aug 2012 at 7:45 am #

GR6, of course I do, but I think your ego is healthy enough as it is!

Bob, near Mark-my husband always has one of those can openers on his keyring. Over the years I have learned how to repair the pockets of his pants from those holes. And you are right about too many bath tubs.
