I think this old cartoon ran here about a year ago, but I don’t have time to scan in any new old material this morning.

I’ve been watching the snowboarding, the “half-pipe” I believe it’s called. I’m not sure what all goes into the scoring, but I know it’s a combination of things, including judges’ opinion. I was struck, though, with the thought that while most Olympic sports, winter or summer, value aerodynamics, snowboarders do not; it is more important to look like a street urchin, like a cool skater dude in a baggy non-uniform uniform. I’m not trying to start a generational argument here. I’m just sayin’! I admit, they do look warmer and more comfortable.
