I think I may have told you this before, but I had a fetching cat named Pirogue. Well, that’s not to say Pirogue was particularly winsome, but he would retrieve little wads of paper for as long as you would throw them, and from as far as you could throw a little wad of paper. For those of you unfamiliar with Acadian watercraft, a “pirogue” is a Cajun canoe, a lightly built, flat-bottomed affair with pointed bow and stern, which are determined, of course, by the direction one is rowing or poling.
