We’re still at the beach in 2003 this week. This would have been before Hurricane Ivan in 2004 and before the fierce season of 2005, which included Hurricane Katrina, and before the 2008 recession that hit housing and related finance so hard. For many, picking up and moving to paradise was a tantalizing and viable option. Now as then living near the ocean is not without its many unique rewards, but it just seemed so easy back then.
