As long as we’re looking at cat cartoons, there’s this one from 2003. Yesterday, I referred to Ludwig’s interaction with the humans, how I deliberately keep it based in reality. No talking, no thought balloons, etc. One caveat would be Arlo’s seeming ability to carry on two-way discussions with Ludwig. These exchanges, of course, aren’t really exchanges at all. They are inventions of Arlo’s dry wit and not some peculiar telepathic connection. Aren’t they?
