Of course we all know by now that the original lyrics to the Kingsmen’s “Louie Louie” are not dirty. They express the simple and charming lament of a lonely sailor. For those of you interested in revisiting the issue, there’s an exhaustive treatment at snopes.com, but since it contains some highly inventive lyrics that were supposedly in the song, I’m not going to link directly to the site. I have every confidence you can find it if you so desire, while I am afforded plausible deniability, another phrase from our youth.
