Well, did you? We did! I think my mother got them with Green Stamps. I still have a set of TV trays in storage, nice wooden ones. Maybe I should get them out, because now I eat in front of the TV like Arlo and Janis in the last panel of this cartoon from 2003. However, it’s one of those traps. If you flop down in front of the TV with a bowl, it seems unplanned and temporary. To set up a TV tray is evidence of premeditated uncouthness. All in all, another artifact from a simpler age, when a little tray with legs represented the nadir of civilized culture.
