A tale of two seasons

Are you ready for spring yet? Well, you’ll have to content yourself with this old cartoon, originally from April, 1997.

I’m trying to decide whether I should weigh in on the football situation at my alma mater, Auburn University. My attitudes about the key issues involved, about the hypocritical NCAA and about Auburn’s mania for football domination, are well established, either in the comic strip or here on the blog. Now, these unstable atmospheres have collided, and we have a perfect storm. Some might say a tempest in a teapot, and of course they’d be right from a universal perspective. I’d also be the first to admit that, intellectual musings aside, I’m hardly a dispassionate observer. Even I would be reluctant to believe anything I said on the subject. So, I might not say anything.
