And Monk wasn’t greedy…

This cartoon has run on the Web site before, and you can find it in the online archives, but I thought it would be particularly hilarious today, in light of all the economic misery. Moonshining isn’t the industry it once was in the American south, because alcohol is available legally in most places. I wonder if loan sharks have been similarly affected in the past few years? Perhaps their rates are competitive.

You may notice my presence on the Web these days will be minimal. I’ll keep at it, but I’m in the late stages of preparing that book we keep talking about. In other words, I’ve waited until the last minute. Publication, by the way, has been postponed until next fall. It’ll be here before you know it. Trust me!
