Burning issue

I told you I’ve been looking at some old stuff. I found a couple of week’s worth of an old strip I peddled around in the 90s, called Lost Key or alternately Perdido.  A couple of weeks of the strip is all I ever drew. It isn’t particularly good, but I’ll show it to you beginning sometime in the next few days. I really wanted to find Baskerville, the dog strip I tried to sell before A&J, but I haven’t yet. It was really awful.

The interesting thing about Lost Key is that the idea of a seaside strip was never far from my mind. I attempted to resurrect Lost Key years later, casting kids in the lead. It was a better effort, but I couldn’t sell it, either. More interesting, I think the seaside notion ultimately resulted in the characters of Mary Lou and Gus.
