The Sunday strips in United Media’s online archive don’t go back as far as the “daily” strips, the strips that appear Monday through Saturday. This is because there was a time not long ago when modem speeds made the sending of large color files impractical. In other words, the daily strips were submitted by artists to the syndicate digitally, but the Sundays contined to be delivered the old-fashioned way, by courier. It was the artists’ digital submissions that formed the basis of the online archive, so there are no Sunday strips in the early archive.
