It is well remembered that the luxury liner Titanic sank beneath the waves on April 14, 1912, but it isn’t as well remembered that it was on May 31, 1911, that the ill-fated ship slid down the shipyard ways and first came to float in Belfast Lough. That was 100 years ago today.
