See! I told you there’d be a new old cartoon every day. Sometimes, a lot more thought goes into a cartoon than you might imagine. I remember laying out this one and thinking, “OK, Arlo’s talking, but only Janis is visible. How can I draw this with a minimum of possible confusion?” My solution was to draw Janis brushing her teeth, complete with rinsing and spitting. The reader has ample clues she’s not talking. Ergo, it must be Arlo behind the shower curtain! And you thought these cartoons just drew themselves.
