Remember, I told you to keep in mind that this strip was drawn in the 80s, when they were still tamping the grave of the Age of Aquarius with shovels. Of course, when I drew this, we just thought we knew the meanings of hedonism and excess. The woman’s name, by the way, is Jasmine. She was to be a regular. The bar patron is a walk-on.
I resurrected the concept of Lost Key about ten years later, but with children in the lead roles. I think that strip had more potential, but it’s misplaced at the moment. If I ever find it, I’ll show it to you, too.
