I would have saved this 2006 Christmas Eve comic strip for tomorrow, but I won’t be posting then. There will, however, be a special Christmas-morning post, so drop by when you can. I made tea cakes last night from my grandmother’s old recipe. Remember Mama Johnson? From the book? I’d like to give her gobs of credit, but it’s really a pretty simple recipe, a vehicle for delivering lots of butter and sugar. It was my favorite cookie when I was a boy. The dinette set in the cartoon above? Just like the one my family had when I was a kid.
