I ran across this strip from 2012 this morning. I chose it, because I had only minutes before finished swapping the batteries in my keyboard, my mouse, the television remote and the Roku remote. I’m good to go. I haven’t changed out the smoke detectors yet, because they take those infuriating and expensive rectangular 9v batteries that I seem never to have on hand. But first things first, I say.

ARLO!
A better response? ” Time to go shopping then. Want help or do you want to surprise me later?” And maybe a slight leer, or smirk? You hurt her feelings, bud, better fix that!
And Mark, maybe post the comic you posted on fb the other day…in case the folks here missed it?
Yes about lingerie. I bought drawers of beautiful panties and bras for Ghost to enjoy. He would have to look in a storage box to do so.
The radiologist they sent me to burned my reconstructed breast off and it nor other side can be rebuilt now. I am stuck with a left side that seems to have reformed in my abdomen and a right side that sags to my abdomen.
Just in case you want to feel better about condition yours are in today. No matter how bad if you have any!
Re: 9/2/19 daily
“Why does it matter…?” Is that what Arlo said, “Why does it… matter…?” I thought I knew Arlo. Now I realize I don’t know him AT ALL.
Arlo simply meant that he appreciates Janis [and her appearance] regardless of her attire. I do agree that he could have phrased his statement more pleasingly.
PS: HbA1c holding at 6.3; good.
That is a good HbA1c! The lowest I ever got before getting a continuous glucose monitor was a 6.5.
Regarding underwear… I don’t remember what any of my Christmas presents or birthday gifts were wrapped in, but I do remember most of those gifts!
I meant to post yesterday regarding the underwear. That, in a nutshell, is the existential angst of many aging women. The man doesn’t care to see you in your underwear anymore- frilly or not. So Arlo states the obvious, “who cares what you’re wearing?” That’s the hurt. I thought the strip (pardon the pun) was profound. Jimmy – how do you get inside the dark corners of a woman’s soul?
Bonnie no one but you may see this but I hope you do. Your comment nailed it. This strip hit me so painfully I actually cried. It didn’t seem to register with Ghost. I have lived most of my life until recently as an attractive woman even in my 70s. To know I am scarred, deformed and cannot ever look better depresses me more than I can say. You said it for me.
It didn’t register with my guy either, and he’s a thoughtful guy. I see and hear you……..
I saw it.
Perhaps Ghost doesn’t see you as you do.
