Follow the money

We’ve awakened to a new world this morning. Bill Gates is no longer the richest man on the planet. In fact, he’s not even the second-richest man. The richest is now Warren Buffett, that good ol’ investor from Omaha. The second richest is¬†Mexican telecommunications mogul, Carlos Slim. This is all according to Forbes magazine’s annual list of billionaires.

I know you Apple devotees probably are dancing in the aisles, but this might dampen your mood: half the top-20 richest people were Americans on last year’s list, but this year only¬†four are.

Warren, however, is an American doing quite well. He added $10 billion dollars to his worth last year, mostly from his Berkshire Hathaway stock. You can own it, too. BH/A:US is $139,000 a share.
