I’m in the middle of a project. Finally, I am getting around to restoring two tall cabinets I bought for a few bucks at a flea market years ago. They’re huge pieces, institutional green (for now) and each with double glass doors. All I know about their history is what I was told, “They came from a hospital in Tuscaloosa.” They’re simple but well-constructed examples of the cabinet-maker’s art, circa 1920. I think they’re going to turn out well. I’m going to put them in my breakfast room to hold large pots and pans and other cooking-related accouterment. A cook who favors stews and soups and one-dish meals such as I do tends to accumulate rather large vessels. Yes, it’s true. I’m working on stuff to hold more stuff.
