Put an extra blanket on the bed. Autumn arrives tonight at a little past 11 o’clock EDT. That’ll get a big laugh where I live, where the daytime temperatures still are climbing into the mid-to-upper nineties and rain suddenly is in short supply. It won’t last forever. I remember freezing in front of the fireplace last winter and urging summer to hurry. It seems as if the transitional seasons are the best seasons these days. I suppose they always have been, when I think about it.
