Pastor Jamie Coots recently drove down from the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Jesus Name Church in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to Eastoboga, Alabama, which is not far from where I grew up. There he purchased a few rattlesnakes and copperheads for liturgical purposes. Driving back through Tennessee, he was stopped in Knoxville, because his car windows were too heavily tinted. In fact, he was stopped twice in Tennessee for this offense, but on the second stop, his snakes were confiscated. He was charged with owning illegal snakes and, for good measure, transporting them improperly. He is due back in Knoxville later this month for a court date. Talk about your nanny state!
