This one’s for those of you caught up in the NBA finals. With so many Web readers these days, I perhaps should be more circumspect, but by the old formula we must favor the Celtics here at arloandjanis.com, because A&J appears in the major newspaper in Boston but not in the Los Angeles paper.

Today, though, I have bigger things to worry about than basketball and why it’s pronounced “sell-tics” instead of “kell-tics.” I have to worry about blossom-end rot on my beautiful tomatoes, apparently caused by repeated cycles of watering and drying out. Yes, as many of our neighbors from the midwest float downstream, it looks as if we’re entering another period of drought here in the southeast.
