What grown-ups mean

Until yesterday, no European had won the U.S. Goofy Golf Championship in 40 years, but Graeme McDowell of Northern Ireland shot par for four rounds over the scar on the otherwise spectacular California coastline that is Pebble Beach. And right behind him, with a one-over for 72 holes, was Gregory Havret, a Frenchman no one had ever heard of. Well, almost no one. Rounding out those contending for the trophy on the final day? A few fellows named Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods. The reports of the demise of Europe may be exaggerated. OK, I promise. No more golf talk for a while. (This was for you, Redman!)
