One of the disadvantages of being a cartoonist is that you’re around the house a lot, which means you frequently turn on the television when you’re “just taking a break.” Sometimes, this isn’t a total waste. Yesterday, March 26, was the birthday of actor and author Sterling Hayden, and there was a mini-festival of Hayden films on Turner Classic Movies. I didn’t have time to watch much, but I was reminded of the iconoclastic Mr. Hayden. I won’t go into it now, but if you’re not familiar with his amazing life, give Sterling Hayden a Google.
