Speaking of waiters, here’s a Sunday extra from January, 2015.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mark In TTown.
Thanks John II
Happy Natal Anniversary, you young whippersnapper!
Happy birthday Mark. Iknow you and I arel.almost same date but I feel too bad today to spell.
We cancelled everything planned.
Dickens gets meat only and is picky.
“We cancelled everything planned.” For your b’day, or the boutique and all?
No no just today through Wednesday my birthday. Today was the symphony and dinner out. Tomorrow spending two days in Tulsa for doctors and birthday dinners.
Misti is cleaning shop downtown and so just ordered a large a.ount of hanging racks.
Happy day, Mark. Jackie, bad about having to cancel things, good about the shop.
Mark, here’s another birthday song, the Birthday Polka: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwfIanJ96d8&pbjreload=10

Thanks everybody for the wishes and music. Between the bronchitis I am recovering from and today’s frigid weather, I think the British royals have the right idea having the official birthday and celebration in warm weather!
Super Bowl related question for those who live where it gets really cold: If you dress to be out in single digit temperatures but at your destination – an indoor stadium – the temperature is near 70, what do you do with all that now extraneous clothing?
Jimmy: I’ve been waiting a long time for that particular joke about waiters and waitresses.
(Yeah, bad joke. Who cares?)
Happy Birthday, Mark!
Ruth Anne: I must have adjusted to Utah’s weather… “all that now extraneous clothing” amounts to a wind-proof jacket, gloves, and a cap. I take off the gloves and cap; I unzip the jacket. I’m good down to about 10F with that.
Mark: Bonne année.
The House of Windsor and emb, no less! After Elaine died [during Christmas break], Dad decreed that family get together w/b in summer, when there’s less ice on the roads. If some can easily do so at other times, fine. And the less distance Dad has to drive, the better. Last summer it was Labor Day Wkd at a single large cabin at a local resort. ’18 w/b likewise, except Dad will also stay in a small cabin there, and thus not have to drive home 2-3x after dark. Christmas day, I had noon dinner at the EV Free Church. I’ve posted this sort of info before.
Indoor game in cold weather; not a sports fan, so no problem. Indoor concert [BSO, Bemidji Chorale]: stuff jacket and sweater under seat. Both are afternoon, so not real dark when I drive home, and it’s a few familiar miles in a town where rush hr. = 30 min.
Guest organist at BUMC today really made that machine sing, though choir dir. told me it needs minor refurbishing again. Major overhaul and upgrade a few yr. back. Generous congregation.
Peace,
My copy of Rheta /Janis first book arrived, written while she and Jimmy were married and she worked for the Memphis Commervisl Appeal. Haven’t read it but the very young Rheta was a spitting image of the young Janis.
Ghost and I have always dreamed of spending 24 hours in bed together. Now we have and it just wasn’t what we had thought it would be.
Jackie, the difference between desire and necessity, eh? When both of you feel better, do it because you want to, preferably in a nice hotel or bed and breakfast. There will be a world of difference.
Why am I so often the first to like Arlo and Janis at this hour of the night over on Go Comics?
Don’t forget to click on that little heart for Jimmy no matter what time it is.
Jackie:
In my case, I am asleep because I have to leave for work early in the morning. Otherwise, I might be one of those who reads the new strip at the tick of midnight.
I don’t know, Jimmy. I’ve known some who went bonkers over football, especially the bowl games.
I remember when the Super Bowl game was underwhelming and the commercials were fantastic. This year was just the opposite. The game could have used a bit more defense, but the Eagles made the big defensive play when they needed it. And the trick play before halftime was great.
Speaking of halftime, my wife decided to do the vacuuming then. I gave her a kiss afterward.
Today’s Dustin, ComicsKingdom.com : Happens lots, super mkt + hospital, standing in line here or there. Church, not to much. Peace,
Jakquline, My wife and I both worked from home for about 5 years so we got to spend a lot of time together. You can always add “Clothing Optional Wednesdays” to relieve the boredom…
