In case you’ve wondered, Beaucoup Arlo & Janis mainly is available here on the Web site and from a so-far small number of book signings by yours truly. I’m working to get the book into bookstores, giving preference to smaller, independent book sellers. I’m finding that it’s true: they’re becoming fewer and farther-between. There is some altruism in this approach, but I’m not being totally unselfish. Getting a book into one of the huge chain bookstores is a labyrinthine process of red tape and stacked decks! While we’re on the subject, I might as well come clean. “Upper Creek Publishing” is a name I came up with to avoid screaming “self-published!” Not to say UPC doesn’t have a viable future as a niche publisher. I hope it does, and I’m working toward that goal. I have learned that publishing these days is an industry very much in flux, as are many. They say it is a great time for small publishing houses and self-publishers. I’ll get back to you on that one in a few months.
