Have I told you this story? When I ask you something like that, I’m not joking. I strive to be correct and accurate with all I post here, but I regard this as our morning conversation. I’m not going to take a lot of time to search the archives to make sure I never repeat myself, because that’s what friends do. They swap the same old stories. And yes, as a handy example, the “Indian Summer’ artwork of the previous post has run here before, not long ago. Anyway, when I was a boy the family dog was a terrier named Spooks. We fed Spooks Ken-L Ration dogfood (I can still sing the jingle!), but she was never a voracious eater. What she didn’t consume, Mama would cover with foil and put in the back of the refrigerator. My father, a dedicated midnight snacker, unwittingly consumed Spooks’ leftover supper one night, and the next day when he asked my mother what it was he’d eaten she told him. Without batting an eye, he simply said, “I thought it was a little mealy.” As I know I have said before, there was a lot of Arlo in my father.

Oh Jimmy, you made me laugh! But then you do that an awful lot.
In the past, I’ve had some really tasty treats out of the pantry, only to discover they were the dog’s biscuits! Sometimes I think they have it better than we do.
There are those who consume dog food unwittingly (through cognition failure), and those who consume it wittingly (for economic reasons). Since I still don’t remember seeing “Indian Summer” previously, and based on how my retirement funds are doing lately, there seems to be a possibility that I may one day belong to both of those groups.
Jackie, those photos you mentioned as floating around apparently reside in Facebook Land, a world which, alas, this Ghost does not haunt.
Of course, then there is That Guyโข, so I suppose there is some hope things may turn out better.

Jimmy, I thought you were going to write that your Dad said “Hey those leftovers in the fridge were great!! One of your better efforts” SO I guess that didn’t happen!
A friend of mine was eating a chicken sandwich at a fast food place and placed her sandwich upside down to get a drink. She then took a picture of the sandwich with green mold on the bottom of it. She only got a new order of chicken tenders. Most commented that they would not have been able to eat after that. I told her that the good news was that it would not kill her or even make her TOO sick. But is was disgusting….
Does anyone else remember a certain episode of the Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason and Art Carney? That stuff in the fridge was delicious!
“Hey Norton, you want some coffee?”
“Ralphie, all of a sudden I feel like drinking some milk.”
It especially wouldn’t do to confuse the Cow-Boom! Strips Beef Gullet Dog Treats with beef jerky right now.

Debbe, don’t know if you’ve heard this version or not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4WqzUrnbB4
From what I’ve read, this was supposed to be the original version on the album, but the violin got left out in the mixing process. I think it’s much better with it, myself.

Two interesting events will occur in the next few days…the autumnal equinox arrives on September 23 at 4:21 A.M. (ET), and a “Super Blood Moon” will arrive Sunday night. Ooo, scary, right? Well, not really…
From space.com: “The supermoon lunar eclipse of 2015 will occur Sunday, Sept. 27, and is a confluence of three events: a full moon; a lunar eclipse, in which the Earth blocks the sun’s light from hitting the moon; and lunar perigee, when the moon is in the closest part of its orbit to Earth. The last time such a confluence happened was in 1982; there were just five instances of it in the 20th century. This time around, viewers looking from the Americas, Europe, Africa, western Asia and the eastern Pacific Ocean will have a chance to see the show.”
So the moon will not only look huge, it will appear to be somewhat reddish. Despite that, the end of times is not expected to occur Sunday. At least not because of the Super Blood Moon.
The good news for Ghost is that if I.get my act together and start writing for printl publications and don’t get eaten by a python or alligator and paddle and train for 8-12 hours per day I will probably be skinny and in a publication you can buy at a magazine rack. Even if you have to go to West Marine to do sO
Unfortunately there won’t be anyone in swamp to do hair or makeup! Love.
Oh, great, Jackie! How’d you know I’m fond of racks?
Just saw a TV ad from Victoria’s Secret for a “One and a Half Cup Push Up”. Apparently everyone is getting into the latte business.
From yesterday
The library in the next town has a genuine – honest to goodness Escher print hanging
on the wall – forgot which one , not an optical illusion. Will report
next trip in.
Many solar orbits ago my grandmother worked for a man that produced canned dog food-
he ate it for lunch. He was that proud of his product.
Had a buddy that ate dog biscuits all the time as snacks. Must have kept his teeth clean.
Info: People who buy dog food because that’s all they can afford subsidize those of us who can afford standard or even pricey human fare, because, in most places, non-restaurant human food does not get sales-taxed whereas pet food does.

Hey, yesterday I photographed the waitress in restaurant I lunched in wearing the uniform tee shirt ” MORE THAN A BIG DECK “
Good morning Villagers…
So by the time I finish this comment, it’ll be Autumn….hmmmm….time flies.
Didn’t we have a blood moon once this year?
Mark, I love electric violins. Such as Poppa John Creech (?) on ‘Red Octopus’ by Jerfferson Airplane. I set sometime aside in the morning to play a little solitaire, “Wish you were here” will be playing in the background ๐
Jerry, thanks for trying, sometimes I get that face on U Tube also….
Yesterday was a Monday at the poultry house…both of them. The Boss only has Andrew right now as maintenance….over the weekend he put in a water pump in the big, big generator. Fought belt wraps, feed leaks and an auger out yesterday and today. While still trying to help me fight that dang manual lifter. Even after gaining 4 pounds, I still struggle trying to manually lift that contraption…then drag it into the cooler room, and push it in line with the other skids of eggs.

ya’ll have a blessed …what day is it?????
Good morning Debbe who goes to bed with and rises with the chickens. I had eggs Benedict Florentine.for a late late lunch yesterday . I don’t eat eggs often and definitely not with hollandaise but when I do now I think of you and the clucks.
Debbe ๐ I pay monthly dues to have a place to drag weights around, and you get paid for it.
You can probably out-lift me, though. Heck, you can probably lift me. ๐
Good morning Debbe, try this set: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SO8x_j-4Iw&list=PLSGVVEAakzy6ZGfw6cyf5eZuB1VMf6bd3
Just thought that I’d point out, Ghost, that lunar eclipses always happen when the moon is full because that’s the only time it gets anywhere near the Earth’s shadow. And, while I’m at it, solar eclipses always come during a new moon.
