Perhaps the nail gun and drywall phase of village reconstruction is over. Maybe soon we can move on to the fun stuff, like paint chips and furnishings. I have received some unsolicited advice from a few of you already, and it was welcome. However, I did not encourage input while I relearned the practicalities of the ever-changing craft of Web design. I have a long way to go in that area, but I guess this is as good a time as any to invite further suggestions and opinions about the site, now and in the future. I’ll start you with an example. The site looks like an invitation to a baby shower; it needs to be more cartoonish. I won’t often ask, so this is your chance. Keep in mind, this isn’t the final product. (Have I said that before?) We will discuss your suggestions later this week. And you tablet readers, how does everything look to you this morning?

Looking fine on my IPad.
Good morning Jimmy. It looks good to me, but have you noticed that thumbnails in the Recent Posts don’t actually let you go to them? Have a great Sunday and keep up the good work. Today’s strip about the Thanksgiving decorations was a hoot.
Works for me. Have you tried clicking on the title of the thumbnail (i.e. “Phoning it in”) and just not in the “box”?
I can’t get past blog posts to open on my iPhone. The blue square turns orange when I tap yesterday’s or any earlier post but nothing happens.
Also, on my iPhone, when I posted that comment it stayed in the comment box as if I hadn’t hit “post comment”. So I hit it again and it told me it was a duplicate post. May just be a weird blog thing but makes me feel like I didn’t hit “post comment”.
Well this time it did go away. So never mind.
It looks great now on my iPhone whereas before it was unusable. Very nice improvement. The links don’t work, but I see that’s been reported by many.
Yes you fixed the orientation. It looks good. We love being able to chat here, so we appreciate your efforts.
Now you need to figure out Auburn football….or have you moved ahead & are looking forward to the basketball team playing Purdue in the NCAA tournament?
Looks good to me ! Is Arlo not interested in college football anymore ?
There’s lots of interesting things going on !
He’s now into equestrian events.
Steve’s comment about football reminds me of how often we’ve wished there was a “like” button. Got along without before, we can get along without it now if we have to.
The comments are “dynamic content” that still is controlled largely by WordPress. Customizing them at all is tricky and usually cosmetic. But I will work on a “like” button. Probably will involve coding, which is not yet at the top of my “to tackle” list. Stay tuned.
I normally read the comics (and your blog) on my laptop, but after seeing the link in the FB group I decided to try it on my phone… it looks just fine! Good job!! ??
I have no idea why those 2 ??s showed up!
Jimmy said to click on the title of the post to open the older ones.
You can also just click on the arrow alongside Next at the bottom. But the numbers disappear when you enter a post.
I can see all the content pretty well on my iPhone. I agree with the comment above that making the picture a clickable link would be an enhancement and make navigation easier.
It’s looking great Jimmy!
Back in the day you posted a link to today’s comic. Will that come back?
Symply works fine! On my phone and tablet. Fargone good work!
This is the first time it’s worked on my phone! Looking good!
iPad still looks fine, but the text is quite wife for me, so I have to scroll the comments from left to right if I want to read them. So if you could make that frame a bit smaller, it would look nicer I think. (The texts go outside the white portion into the beige part of the side on my iPad)
Has anyone heard even a peep from our senior citizen, eMb? I did email him when JJ reopened the village gates, but have had no response. No recent mention of him on my favorite search engine, either. Too bad, for I am sure he’d be delighted to be back.
For new readers, he is the “emeritus Minnesota biologist”, a retired professor therein and thereof.
I also sent notice to EMB no reply yet
Last heard from him few months ago
I messaged Jackie on FB to let her know the Village had reopened. No response.
I thought the old comments were still there, but once I had gone back into the 2021 posts, all that were there were scammers.
