I was going to show you this one last week, but I didn’t get back. It is, of course, the follow-up comic strip to the previous post. Did you read about the death of Bob Denver, aka Gilligan of “Gilligan’s Island?” I read it last week, on Facebook. Of course, I also read it in 2005, when he actually died. And I’ve read it on the internet several times in between. Why do people do things like that? What is it about being online, and on Facebook in particular, that makes people mean?

GR6, these days they have managed to breed some chickens that are sex-linked to color. That is, all the males are one color and all the females another. Now they can sex them visually, quickly, without having to do a manual inspection.
You’re welcome Debbe. My ex had posted that cartoon on FB, and I thought it would be enjoyed here too.
Good morning, Debbe I would be touched to work with a sweet guy like that too. Some mama somewhere did a good job. Tell him so.
Yes, I worry about you and the chickens, makes my issues seem less. Right now not feeling great, going to move today’s dermatologist to another day, it’s a six month check up and I don’t feel like a two hour drive for that and burning off my medicare limit of skin growths. Autoimmune patients have to see dentists, dermatologists and eye doctor every six months in addition to those youd think.
Harry Potter music playing on Symphony music on Pandora. Guess it is.
Debbe, I sure hope they can keep you girls “clean”. They do have quite a few cavities to swab.
Today’s A&J hit home for me. Wifey would like me to wear turtle necks, but I feel just like Arlo about them. I guess I grew up in the wrong time. As Ziggy once said, “I like things the way they aren’t!”
God bless us every one, including all of God’s creatures great and small.
I wear turtlenecks roughly 9 mo. / yr., polo shirts the other 3, tees and sweats to work out, sweat pants when I can get away w/ it all year. Sweat shirts are for extra warmth over turtlenecks. Have a few fancy zipper turtlenecks. Wore one to a gala Tue. evening. Hors de oeuvres, it said. Supper, really. Velcro sneakers year round. Peace, emb
Today’s real time strip reminded me of a former colleague and her refusal to wear turtlenecks, most necklaces, scarves, etc. She says she’s sure that in some past life her death was by hanging because those things make her feel like she can’t breathe.
I don’t like ties, tight collars or turtlenecks, either. I can work with a mock turtleneck though because they tend to be looser fitting. I’m with Arlo, comfort before style. And I don’t care if I don’t attract a lady’s attention as that is not what I am dressing for.
Mark, Ruth Anne, et al, I am extremely claustrophobic and have been forever. The severity of it comes and goes as does my ability to wear turtlenecks, scarves and jewelry. I would say it is weight related but I think most resides in my fat brain. Since losing all this weight I am back wearing these things and it may be due to losing something more than weight that was weighing me down.
Right now I’d need it to hide this neck of mine. There are two famous actresses I like who always wore stuff like that to hide their necks and the swelling has stopped my mental function too.
One is Diane Keaton.
Candace Bergen is the other one.
Among other sartorial advantages, turtlenecks with the necks left up [= not folded over] cover wattles. The zippered turtlenecks do this nicely. Peace, emb
Why would a colorist color a man’s sleeveless undershirt blue?

[Had to go back and look at one of JJ’s best.] Peace, emb
It’s gray and some men wear gray shorts too. Not the one zip stayed married to for 48 years, same white ones forever and gave up undershirts thankfully. I like non-white myself.
In less comical news the Bank of Eufaula was just robbed and the bank president killed, another employee is critical, the robber is dead and a woman at omplice or hostage wounded. I am not going downtown today.
Illness becomes trivial.
Bank robbery rates are down overall in the US, but my impression is that the ones that occur tend to be more violent and more often deadly…fewer robbers robbing with notes and more robbing with weapons.
Dear Jackie, the bank robbery and killing is so sad and upsetting. I am sure glad you were not there when it happened. Thank you for asking about me. Yesterday I had a colonoscopy and for some time had been thinking of it nervously and fretting. Needlessly as it turned out, nothing bad was found and I must say that the preparation was easy and the nurses and the doctor were all caring and friendly.
Good to hear, Sweet Charlotte.
“Two Killed, Two Injured In Deadly Oklahoma Bank Robbery”
I hate a headline like that. It should read, more accurately, “One Innocent Victim Killed, Two Innocent Victims Injured, One POS Murderer/Bank Robber Dies As A Result Of His Criminal Actions”
Thunder is doing much better. I had her almost healed, but the last time I let her out, she came back chewed up again. Literally. There was still saliva in one of the wounds. She is an absolute mess to give medicine to – feisty and claw-y. Checked her out this afternoon, and she is just about healed again. No more outside until cousin the vet checks her out.
She has also learned to play. π I had been trying to engage her with toys a bit, but she hadn’t been showing any interest. The other day I heard her terrorizing her combo scratcher/ball track. While she’s always liked to claw the cardboard, this was the first I’d heard her play with the ball part. Tonight, I brought out a toy I’d made Blacklight ages ago (that she didn’t like, mousies only for her) – a quarter machine “ball” (that the toys come in) with a few soybeans in it to make it rattle. She hasn’t quit chasing it since.
For those of you who like things astronomical: Planet Nine

(No, it’s not Plan 9 from Outer Space.)
Here’s a little bit funny and little bit scary tidbit since we’ve had such tragedy today. I was checking into hospital admission office (they make you do this even for a blood draw if you were there that morning for surgery) and I got a new person. He was funny, charming, TALL, bearded, had so many things in common with Ghost I noticed and said, no way, it’s just coincidence. Until he mentioned eight years as his maximum time in a job or relationship including his marrages. I knew it was a coincidence at that point.
But here I am comparing someone I just met to someone I have NEVER met and the never met came out ahead. That’s scary.
Mindy from Indy, sounds like Thunder needs an escort when she goes out. Do you have an idea which other cat is doing this? Or if it is some other animal? I know how nerve-racking it is to have your pet come home as the loser in a fight. What solved our problem with a couple was getting them fixed. They lost that urge to go looking for a fight but would defend their own territory.
Not when the never met is me. π
I wrote a reply that vanished into ether. Short version.
Sure of ourself are we?
Just a facade…I’m actually a horrible shy introvert with no self-confidence whatsoever.
