Cartoonist’s note: Click on the link above entitled “Tee-Shirt Art,” and you’ll see how the shirts will look.
The classic A&J comic above, from 2012, originally appeared the same week as yesterday’s lawn-mower cartoon. I guess I was on a lawn-care kick. I’m posting this early Wednesday, a quick break from the tee-shirt thing, but I will be back later today to show you the artwork that will appear on the tee-shirts and to discuss them in a bit more detail. Thanks to all for your interest and for those participating in our informal survey. It helped: we’ve been scared into overdrive.

The first comment. What are you doing up so early JJ?
I wish you all a great Thanksgiving, It will be just us this year so we’ll be going out, if I’m not in the hospital. Yesterday was not a good day and I’m not expecting today to be much better.
Happy Thanksgiving Jimmy…and oh by the way isn’t “overdrive” a good thing? Especially when the conversation is around sales?
Jerry,
Hope you aren’t in the hospital for Thanksgiving. I was there last year, then there for Christmas and New Year Day two years ago. It’s no fun. Do what ever it takes (rest, meds, fluids, etc.) to get better.
Leaf blowers are indicative of much of current society. Don’t solve a problem, just push it around with a bunch of noise until someone else has to deal with it. 🙁
For the vegetables, my daughters would push them around, too. Somehow, she thought they would look like she’d eaten if they were scattered. I just scooped them back into a pile.
When we had English peas she would divide them into two sections. The larger was General Santa Anna’s army, the other group was the Texas patriots. She’d smash all the Santa Anna peas into mush, then only eat the Texas peas (We live in Texas, remember). Her mom and I let her get away with that about twice.
PS–
If anyone wants to use extended paragraph spacing there’s an easy way to deceive the blog software. On the blank line between paragraphs, hold the key while typing 255 on the numeric keypad. That inserts a special blank that the software doesn’t trim that will keep the extra line space. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to do that without a numeric keypad, so can’t use the same trick on smartphone or a tablet.
That would be hold the “alt” key and press 255… seems the blog software didn’t like the way I typed 255.
Testing…
Line of text
Empty blank line above
Alt-255 in blank line above
Letters alt 255 inside ‘less than’ and ‘greater than’ brackets above
This concludes this text of the blog text system
Cilla girl knows that I’m sick and lays beside me purring, but I have a migraine and Tippy wants me up so I guess that I’m up. I fed them already, but every day is like Christmas morning for Tippy and he wants everyone to get up and enjoy the morning.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all. No plans for the marrow. Yours truly is making homemade cinnamon rolls for the breakfast set. Dinner will be out. Maybe a homemade pumpkin pie for late night snack.
Black Friday will be a day of avoiding crowds. I might put in some range time, otherwise its hunker in the bunker.
Shall return later to view the unveiling. 🙂
TIP BlogSpot is cute today. If I may opine without causing a political ruckus, she’s just right.

Peace, drive safely, eat and drink in moderation, the latter not at all if it would not be wise. And remember ‘The Least of These.’

BTW, a 7.6 quake hit the border of Peru and Brazil. Apparently no one lives there.
Careful JJ. We wouldn’t want to get too Disneyish.
Debbe 😉 Thanks, hon. As previously mentioned, for me “Devil with the Blue Dress On” equals “…visions of go-go- dancers danced in my head”. Of course, now what’s dancing in my head is a vision of a presidential candidate go-go-dancing to “Devil with the Blue Pants Suit On”.* Yes, thanks a lot. 🙂
Hopefully, Jimmy and his tee shirt minions were merely scared into overdrive and not “scared shiftless”.
*Not a political comment, but rather a manifestation of the ancient and honorable tradition (see: Ancient Greeks) of mocking candidates for high public office and other individuals affected with extreme hubris.
EARLY THANKSGIVING LIST:
I’M THANKFUL FOR:
MY FAITH,
MY WONDERFUL FAMILY, ESPECIALLY MY WIFE OF ALMOST 52 YEARS,
AUBURN UNIVERSITY, MY ALMA MATER IN ALL THINGS AND NOT JUST FOOTBALL,
THIS YEAR ESPECIALLY, FOR LIFE, WHICH, WITHOUT GOD’S MERCY, I COULD HAVE LOST LAST MONTH,
AND, LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST, JIMMY AND ARLO AND JANIS AND THE VILLAGE, A GROUP OF UNMET,SPECIAL FRIENDS ON THE PATH OF LIFE!
GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
I had a temperature of over at 100 this morning. So I’m staying home from work. Probably won’t be able to make it to our big Thanksgiving gathering. Of course we will be moving around Christmas time so there won’t be a tree in the house either. However Christmas is what you make of it and we intend to do just that
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all in The Village! May tomorrow find everyone happy and healthy!
Today is for making pies (pumpkin, pecan, chocolate, and eggnog custard), cranberry sauce, cornbread and biscuits for the dressing tomorrow, and brining two turkeys. Yes, this year we have two smallish (15 pounds each) turkeys, one which will get roasted the traditional way, and the other Husband will put in the smoker. Tomorrow will be everything else. Friday will be feet up and a pot of tea.
Yes, there will be a hectic few days, and a dozen or so people, but I am most thankful that I can still cook for my family and that we will all be together. I will check in here at the Village when I can, because I am thankful for my friends here, too.
emb, model looks quite perky. Maybe a cool studio. Happy Thanksgiving.
I have a chance to see my son this afternoon for the first time in a couple of years so I am going to drag myself out of here. For others with health problems you have my sympathy.
Mark,
Remember, it’s a painting, not a photo. They have to be perky only a short time, which can be arranged, or the painter has to remember what perky ones look like. Feverish minds, as some have mentioned.
Peace, emb
My previously-admitted-to “febrile imagination” seems to be the basis of some gentle humor lately. Well, that’s fair, I suppose. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving Eve, Jean dear. BTW, which US Army battalion are you hosting for Thanksgiving dinner? 🙂
Tomorrow night will mark the arrival of the Hunter’s Moon.
I don’t know if anybody else noticed, but this week’s episode of NCIS was very unusual: it’s the first time in many years that the Thanksgiving episode didn’t end with them all having the holiday dinner together.
And, Abby was wearing a long-sleeved black dress with white cuffs and collar, in proper Pilgrim style.
Ghost Sweetie, not quite, just my family, both those of blood and those who need family on occasion.
And for those of you who are cooking the meal, please do be careful. 🙂

sideburns, I watched NCIS this morning, and thought at least nobody was left by themselves, so it was good.
