Hey, hey! It’s still Faye!

I have been backing into birding. I don’t foresee myself taking up bird-watching as sport, rushing off to Ecuador with my binoculars and check list to get in on a sighting of the rare web-footed titmouse, but when I purchase 50 pounds of black-oil sunflower seed every two weeks, I have to admit the birds and I have established a relationship. Enough so, that the appearance of a heretofore unseen individual is cause for great happiness. Most recently, it was a summer tanager, a beautiful cardinal-red bird with a melodious song. He eats a lot of bees and wasps, it says. Sort of like that guy on the Travel Channel.
