It truly is better to be lucky than good! I finally had time to sit down and begin to work on the Website. I went into the Earthlink control panel and, with great trepidation, began to explore files and links with ominous titles such as “myssl database.” I quickly became intimidated and backed out, taking great care to not change anything! Frustrated, I returned to the scene of my original problem, the “admin” home page for my WordPress site. That is where the work is done, but I have been locked out for over a week, meaning I was as helpless as the next person when it came to posting, as I’m doing now, or anything else related to site maintenance. I clicked on my log-in, expecting the same dismal error message, but No. The site opened as normal, and here we are. We shall not speak of this again.

It IS better to be lucky than good. Fingers crossed that it stays that way. Hoping that you get some support along the way to enhance the blogging experience!
Praise the Lord! Missed you and the rest of the Village!
Hallelujah! The interwebnet powers/that/be have finally allowed JJ’s light to return to the Village.
Sometimes things just fix themselves.
Great to have you back!
Tell me about it! I’ve driven Fords all my life.
Sometimes y’all just gots to Symply shut all the winders, and reopen em…weeks fer lil ignorant me all the time. Fargone weird huh.
Yay, all those pizzas I sacrificed in the name of the Internet God finally worked! Not to mention drinking the blood of the fermented grape.
Shall not speak of what? I will say that I was so pleased to see a new page that I read post then jumped to the comments without reading the comic! I had to go back to get the pearl of wisdom you’d shared. My wife and I do the “do you remember:” not because life today isn’t pleasant– with a three-year-old granddaughter nearby it is terrific. We also enjoy recalling the things we did as newly married and the things we and our children did as they grew up.
.
Hopefully you aren’t speaking of that “do you remember where I left my keys? … when my appointment is? … what I was doing? … what we had for supper yesterday.” The loss of memory is a sad and lonely thing. We are dreading the day when my father-in-law no longer recognizes his wife and children. He already struggles with grandchildren and cannot distinguish any of the grand-spouses already. :/
Hooray! Glad to have you back. I’ve also used the “wait till it fixes itself” approach successfully in many situations.
Cheers
Glad to see you found the keys to open the Village again, Jimmy. Hope everything else has been going well as you cleaned up after those storms in the early part of the month.

Woweeee! So glad you are back! Missed you and Village so much. I’m doing great, things fit better. I feel better, walking better, house getting cleaner.
Hope things are going same for you as well.
I just learned that our 2007 Town and Country had a tracking device installed deep under the dash. We don’t know why it’s there, but we do know that they nearly cut the ignition wire in the process of installing it. Today while replacing bulbs in the dash, the technician lowered the steering wheel all the way down and the wire snapped.?
Ron, anything on the tracker that indicates how old it is? That would possibly give you some idea what it might be about. Whyever/Whenever it was done, it’s pretty weird. New systems with onboard GPS probably wouldn’t need trackers, the “convenience” systems like OnStar are probably just used instead. 🙁
’Fess up, Jimmy. You forgot your log-in password, and it took you this long to find the scrap of paper on which you had scrawled it some indeterminate period of time ago squirrelled away in the back of a desk drawer, didn’t you? Your choice of retro cartoons gave you away. As did the fact I’ve done the same thing myself. However it happened, welcome back. 🙂
So glad to have found you again! I miss printed news and Arlo n Janis! Hello from Northern California from an Arkansas girl! Miss chatting!
