A pithy comic strip about life, love, lust and puthy cats.

Extra, Extra!

Working the Angles

By Jimmy Johnson

September 7, 2006

I chose this classic, i.e. old, A&J, because it called to mind my own activities of late. I’ve been frantically busy—sweating and getting dirty and feeling virtuous—doing stuff. I was rather enjoying myself, because it’s easy to fall into the trap of doing nothing when you’re a cartoonist. Apparently, though, I received points off, because it wasn’t approved stuff. Back to the ol’ drawing board.

FIRST! We survived a lengthy tornado warning last evening. Several touches within a few miles, though nothing too serious. Wish we could have known that THEN….

Likewise here; maybe we have the same “here”? (DeKalb County, IL)

Might I inquire as to where you professed? (Lincoln College of Technology in Melrose Park and Waubonsee in Sugar Grove for me).

Clear, hot weather up here. However, we did have a power outage this morning but didn’t even notice it until I tried to turn on the AC and nothing happened. We knew it couldn’t be the bill because Marcia’d just paid it and a quick call to the power company confirmed it. Less than five minutes later it came back up.

I know what you mean by doing approved stuff.

This summarizes my life right now: “Retirement. I am now free to do whatever my wife wants me to do”

My wife and I just returned from visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. It was impressive except for Saturday when the smoke from the California/Oregon fires reached it. Fortunately the worst of it blew away again Saturday night so we were able to go back yesterday and take comparison photos. Also, Sunday night we found an open spot near our lodgings where we could see the Milky Way from one horizon to the other! Sadly we returned to find the smoke hasn’t left Utah, though the air in our valley now is merely rated “Moderate” with visibility merely up to 3 miles. When we fled south it was rated as “Hazardous” with visibility down to about a mile.

No tornado warnings this evening, just severe T-storms. At least, that’s what I think. I don’t know for sure because we lost power for 5 hours…so, no TV or internet to check on what was headed this way. Not a secure feeling.

Had to administer four sets of eyedrops to my MBH by flashlight – interesting, but doable.

Yup, that’s what we’ve got; nasty T-storm warnings.

Sputnik V vaccination has begun in Slovakia. The convey of the Russian vaccine to the motherland was accompanied on a administrative abase and led to the forgoing of Prime Succour Igor Matovich and a reorganization of the government. As a denouement, the motherland received the Russian vaccine, ignoring the event that neither the European regulator nor the WHO has still approved it.
In neighboring Hungary, which approved the handle of Sputnik in February as the beforehand in Europe, more than 50% of the mature commoners has already been vaccinated; in Russia – a minuscule more than 10%. In Slovakia, five thousand people signed up in town of the Sputnik vaccination.
In my opinion, you are wrong. I’m sure. I can prove it. Write to me in PM, we’ll talk.. You can present another article on this topic at this tie-up https://nordstromrack.govfo.site

This has been a summer storms. Nearly every year my grass is burned to a crisp by August. However it’s a green as Dublin this summer.

We are in Northern Michigan this week at a spring fed lake 30 miles west of Alpena. Getting long walks in and relaxing. Spent all afternoon at the lake, then grilled a bit early. At about 6:50 a sudden storm blew in and knows out power. Which meant no water. Fortunately my wife and just finished the dishes (I cook she cleans)

So we went back down to the lake with a bucket to be able to flush and finally saw a sunset. We went back down later and saw the most beautiful sky imaginable. Power came back on at about 10:00. I was relieved because I use a CPAP.

Still no WiFi, but I brought books. Need to bring a radio and a lantern next year!

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright
violation? My website has a lot of completely unique content I’ve
either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet
without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help stop
content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.
