Here’s one from early spring, 2010, although it’s a time around here when yard work mercifully replaces artificial exercise. I admit, I had to look up the spelling of “Jehoshaphat,” and, as is often the way of the Internet, I learned more than I bargained for, some of which might even be true. Jehoshaphat was a Biblical King of Judah. The interjection “Jumping Jehoshaphat” came into being in 19th Century America. In the 20th Century, it frequently was used by Yosemite Sam. Beyond that, not much really is known, but you can read an article about it!

I AM MARK IN TTOWN right now? Mark come help clean my closet and bathroom, I am exhausted! And in pain!
No, this is Jackie, not Mark.
I have been working on this bedroom and bath since got out of hospital for New Years.
The arthritis of my low back and hips that was only an x-ray result a year ago has turned into a nagging annoyance this year. I went through another bout of sharp back pain in December, that didn’t last so long. But I got tired of walking bent forward pretty fast, so I ordered myself a cane to use when I’m going to the mailbox and dumpster. Got myself a shower seat so I don’t have to bend over forward to wash below my waist, as I don’t want to fall over in the tub. Bought one of those wheeled upright carts so I can haul my laundry over to the laundry room. The pain keeps me from being able to carry a filled laundry basket that far now, so I steady myself with the cane in one hand and pull the cart with the other. Altogether, using these things is helping me get things done and I can live with it.
Jackie, if I were a lot closer than Arizona, I totally would. Hang in there, lady!
Trucker Ron, check this out. I have seen model railroad layouts for years, but never a working model truck setup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ99AWTyVSk
Nor have I! It was amazing, but a bit frightening when the CAT officer intervened. 😉
From what I found out when I looked up those Tyco sets, they made them for about 5 years, ending in 1986. So they were pretty well made to still be running nearly 40 years later. And yeah, typical cat. Maybe he was the Highway Patrol officer for that district.
Re 3-13-21 real-time cartoon: Huh. People used to complain they had “500 channels and nothing on to watch”. Now they have trouble keeping up with all the things they do watch?
Today is Pie Day. What kind are you making/eattng?
Ghost is making lemon icebox.
Pi Day. Finally spellchecker let it go in. Kept changing it.
No, Jackie, that’s tomorrow, March 14.
Pi Antici — Pation Day (Eve). Mmmmm, pie. Blueberry with a crumb sprinkled top, please.
Buttermilk pie at Cracker Barrel. Comes with fresh strawberries.
We’re too involved in too much to make pies ourselves this year… what a change from 2020! So we bought my wife’s favorite (pecan) with a $2 off dealat Village Inn.
Wow! It’s called “Right Up Our Alley,” and explores a bowling alley in a single drone shot.

I’m actually not much of a baker. I do OK with Lemon Icebox and Pecan pies, and with Rum Cake. Other cakes, not so much. Like that time I attempted to make a Red Velvet Cake and ended up having to call it Red Crumb Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting.
I LOVE the pies at Village Inn! There is one in Tulsa still but we never go there. Free pie on Wednesday, right?
Yes, though some locations have had to modify that rule and require you to buy an actual entrée, not just a drink to go with it.
Re 3-14-21 real-time cartoon: Panels 1 and 2 depict exactly what Dickens does to me every night, but fortunately not in the middle of it. It’s just his way of saying “goodnight” and wanting some bedtime petting and schritching before going to sleep.
Exactly what I thought when I saw it. Dickens, not the cats.
Jimmy you draw cats superbly. Love Arlo’s interaction with Ludwig. Both Ghost and I talk and
have conversations with all animals.
That’s from Jackie, not Mark. Blog is still pranking us, and she didn’t notice.
Have I posted this yet? First sentence in a recent Bemidji Pioneer obit: “Her name was Edith Ann and that’s the truth.” This is guaranteed not to make sense to people not familiar w/ ’70s or so tv. That was a good show. “Walnetto”? “Sock it to me.” If Jimmy updates real soon, will repost in the next series.
Peace,
‘Twasn’t Lily Tomlin, though.
.
I always liked Laugh-in, though some parts better than others. Best was the “Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award” shtick.
.
Hmmm. I seem to be Sideburns, so I’ll fix that now.
I am STILL Mark in TTown AGAIN ut I looked this time and will change it.
Sorry emb but I have no idea what you are talkibg about. The 70s were heavy 18 hour work days for me as a florist. I kept a tv for employees to watch Dallas and a couple of limited soap operas but they couldn’t abuse privilege.
We often worked 24 hour shifts with huge weddings, funerals, holidays and dances. I remember little of 1870s-80s.
That last is certainly true of all of us.
Jackie isn’t that old…trust me. But she never watched Laugh In, at the time nor in reruns. She read the Wiki article on it today, but says the article made no sense to her. I assured her that was equally true of the show itself. She was, however, intrigued with the photo in the article showing John Wayne donning a bunny suit before appearing on an episode.
c x-p: Was too Lily Tomlin, dressed as a 3 or 4-yr old girl w/ braids, & sitting in a big, oversized rocking chair esp. built for the skit. And that’s the truth. Peace,
The obit wasn’t of the actress is what I meant and think I wrote.
My phone and blog still confused. I am Jackie Monies with Mark’s email today.
I went to post my blood sugar reading and it posted the http://www.gocomics address!
My typing errors I blame on my fingers and Spellcheck and low blood sugars making me shake badly.
Who here is watching Yellowstone and the Duttons? Not I despite thinking Kevin Costner is sexiest actor left alive. I didn’t even know he was on television until this month!
Oh, lucky you Jackie. You have three seasons to catch up on before summer. Some episodes can be pretty intense. I don’t recommend binging multiple episodes in an evening, Just let it stew with you a few days before viewing the next. I have really enjoyed the width and breadth of Sheridan’s writing. Big as the Montana sky. Your post made me check to see if season 4 was starting soon. But Wikipedia does not have a premier date, so I presume it will also be a summer run. The article did say that Sheridan is working on a prequel set in 1888. So we may get to learn more about those fathers buried beneath the big tree out by the drive.
c x-p:
Couldn’t tell; all you wrote was, “‘Twasn’t Lily Tomlin, though.”
Peace,
For more, see post below.

That was back when TV actors could smoke! Had forgotten how young Rowan looked then, & that’s ” and that’s the truth; pffft!” was how Lily ended the skit. Peace,
Post writing is also a fun, if you be acquainted with afterward you can write if not it is difficult to write.
