OK! The doors are open again, and it’s back to normal for now. I want to assure you that during the periods I am not here with you, I am not doing nothing. I am thinking! Admittedly it looks a lot like doing nothing, so much so that it is sometimes difficult for me to tell the difference. I have been giving a lot of thought to the future which, in my experience, is immeasurably more productive than giving a lot of thought to the past. Speaking of the past, this cartoon from 10 years ago was lifted almost verbatim from real life. A lot of the better ideas are. Not the best ideas, mind you, but many of the better ones.

The same person who discovers torn rotator cuffs do NOT like to fold sheets and comforters nor carry laundry baskets.
Hey, we can do this again! Besides, though she’s no centerfold, she’s kinda cute. I believe Erin is slimmer, but variety is the spice of life.

I didn’t say Janis was guilty of false modesty, but she was raised in a family, and perhaps more families than not instill this kind of behavior. I doubt it’s the temperature, as does Arlo in the last panel.
Society is strange. Many will not object to Renoir’s painting, but, if it’s an online trailer of a movie sequence of the Dance of the 7 Veils, you get these squared defacers at the end. To me, that is obscene.
Peace,

You didn’t miss me?
I’m crushed.
My kids are absolute prudes or so they seem. I am not. There is usually a second parent? My family that raised me were definite prudes and morality of Biblical proportions. My grandmother believed in damnaton to the transgressor, yet she raised one who never flinched then or now at skin.
But as Ghost always says, the ones you see aren’t always the ones you’d like to see naked. Go to any nudist resort and you’ll confirm that. Laughs.
Rick, are you on Facebook? I’ll add you to the Round Up the Lonely Orphans list that meets there for succor in our hours of bereavement.
Welcome back JJ. You were missed.
With today being IWD, Kiva had/has matching donations for many female lendees. Since I exclusive loan to female individuals, I made yet another loan today. That means I now have 10 outstanding loans right now. Of the 33 loans I have made to date, only 2 have gone bad.
The Celtic Woman cuties were, well, cute. Some were pneumatic, and some were pulchritudinous, but unlike my Pneumatic & Pulchritudinous Hair Stylist, I did not judge any of them to be both. What was sorely lacking was a close-up at the end when they took their post-performance bow.
And yeah, no, the new iteration of Bloom County is sadly not up to snuff. I recall no more than a handful of present day strips that seem to even approach the quality of the original. If as it says in the GoComics.com blurb, the author “talked himSELF out of retirement after Donald Trump threw his hat into an overpopulated ring of hopefuls for the Republican presidential nomination”, he possibly needed a better reason to resurrect his opus. And as far as the cartoon of Bill and Opus conducting that, ah, inspection, one should really not have to look to know what one has there.
And 9 Chickweed Lane, which I am now checking about once a month in the forlorn hope that something interesting might, by some miracle, actually occur, seems to have jumped the shark. Again. Either that, or its creator is simply phoning it in, perhaps being occupied writing and producing another stage play that no one will finance for him.
Totally disappointing, huh? If I would finally decide to do something like kick off my online blog like I was supposed to do and actually do some work instead of life imitating art and playing in the dirt and having snakes and planting gardens and petting cats and soaking in frothy baths, well maybe Ghost could discuss our favorite deceased, demised and retired comics with us during our forced hiatus from the Village.
There are times my real life plays out just like Jimmy’s strip which is probably what got me addicted to it to begin with including the sailing parts but it seems more and more like but with Arlo missing, a ghost as it were. That is me being punnish, I know, don’t quit the day job!
Back to the laundry, there seems something satisfying in laundry, a strange thought for someone who could not do it if I could find someone who actually could.
Oh yes, Bill is a lobotomized eunach according to strip and since I didn’t get to go to count Penguin poop with the scientists this past January I have no idea about Opus. Millquetoast is a cockroach and may be bisexual. So yes, they may need to check.
Got my invitation to go to Antarctica from the penguin poppers this week. Hmmmn, should I go get my two rotator cuffs repaired first, since January is earliest surgeon will do them? Then I bet I can tell you real poop on penguins.
Jackie, someone (you?) said that penguins were quite malodorous, which I suppose is to be expected about a fowl that eats fish.
Jackie, I think the attraction of laundry is like the attraction yard work had for me when the Navy assigned chores outside your specialty. I found I hated the housecleaning stuff, because you could do it half the day, and by the time you got through, no one could tell you had done anything. But mowing grass, or clipping shrubs, someone can look and say, yep, you did that. And it would not need doing again for at least a week. And laundry is the same, you start with a full basket and end with a full closet. Then you have a break of a few days before it needs to be done again.
Still, there are male and female penguins? I have only seen a couple of aquariums and zoos with penguins, but they are like the Celtic women, cute and cuddley.
The laundry calls. Or is that the dryer alarm?

The laundry calls. Or is that the dryer alarm? Actually, I own enough clothes to go several months but that is how my previous minions got by, they hid it! And I never noticed!
Debbe π Hi, hon! Miss me?

We’re back……Good morning Villagers…..
Jackie, tried FB once, just didn’t get into it. But glad you thought of me…thanks, my friend π And if I lived on your block, I’d come and do your laundry….I’m very good at it too.
Temps here for the next week are going to be in the sixties…with rain. I’ll take it, beats 30 degree temps. No more dance of the Seven Zippers for me….going to launder the Carhart and put it up for next winter….woohoo!!
Had some excitement/fear in the hen house yesterday. Ian was walking down one of the aisles, and a wild, black bird flew right in front of him. The hens went hysterical….it had to come through one of the open louvres that didn’t close when the fan shut off. I hope it flew down into the pit. Even though state restrictions have been lifted, we still have to hazmat it….and those suits are hot.
I missed ya Steve….started reminiscing about Mom’s recipes, ever had left over beef roast with stir fried apples? Something German there…I think Mom called in hopalingals or something like that…very good stuff Maynard.
Happy Hump Day…..
GR π yes, yes, yes!!!! And how did I miss that live version of her. She and I had similar taste in wardrobe fashion then…I loved to wear camisoles with just a vest and of course, Levi’s.
The movie didn’t make it big, but the song did, the lyrics are just lovely…..absolutely.

Thanks for the invitation, but I am unable to accept.
I used to be on FB, but I bought a new computer about a year and a half ago, and I have not been back on FB because of privacy and security concerns.
Jackie:
About penguins –
Last summer, my wife and I visited the Newport Aquarium which is across the Ohio River from Cincinnati.
They feature “Penguin Encounter,” and we were part of a group that were in a room with about a dozen penguins. As the handlers gave information about the all-female colony, we were allowed to stroke a penguin – very carefully.
The penguins were warm-weather birds from South Africa.

Rick….loved the movie “March of the Penguins” narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Robin? Arlo is sleeping with Robin?
No Debbe, never had roast beef with apples. My mom was not that inventive, but even if she did, with 7 kids, there were never any leftovers!
We saw Celtic Woman the night before my hip replacement and my wife was so inspired by their performance that she wrote a 4 book series and four singers. We have seen them 3 times but since Chloe left, it isn’t quite the same.
