I apologize for the late post, but it was a busy morning around here. However, since we’re at the beginning of a sequence, I wanted to give you the next installment of “Sondra,” from 2004.

Jym: No such luck. She is kinda cute. Peace,
Yeah Arlo really needed to watch that inflection…
Just remember, Arlo, that there’s nothing to worry about as long as the door’s open.
Sideburns:
Disagree.
Thank you, Jimmy! Sondra’s up to two panels now.

Mark, I need to move down-scale on my dentistry, much like the subject of your post. I got a recent estimate for some potentially needed dental work (bridge) that would be the equivalent of 6 crowns. The total, for the full package, would be over $12-thousand!! I’ve decided to see if I live long enough for the potential problem to become a reality rather than pay, like the proverbial E-Trade customer, like I have of money coming out the wazoo…

Yeah, David, dental insurance isn’t a whole lot of help once you get out of the simple things like filling and pulling. I don’t know why it covers so little compared to what you get with good health insurance.
But Jim Unger, the Herman artist, is one of my favorite cartoonists from way back. And I really miss having new comics from him, but I’m glad he passed on the rights to his work to his former partner to carry on. His partner creates new comics periodically, which are as good as the original.
Speaking of dentists…

Peace,
I can sympathize with Arlo in today’s strip!
For weeks, this is the only Kenya explore.org cam that has usually been live. Impala.

Peace,
Mark: Me, too.
And here’s another strip that a cartoonist could not have gotten away with in the ’50s.

Peace,
At least Arlo has instructions in some language. Ikea’s “some assembly required” furniture normally only has line drawings… if you aren’t good at translating 2D art into 3D reality then it is a great chore to assemble. I have assembled most of the furniture my daughters have because they don’t do the 3D visualization well.
David from Austin, most of those multilingual instructions I have had trouble with seem to have been auto-translated from Chinese to English. And translation is one place full automation does not really take the place of a human. It does provide some unintentional humor sometimes, which can relive the frustration of trying to decide what they really meant.

Yeah today’s strip hit home. Some the instructions that I get for putting stuff together seem like they are obviously translated from another language or by people who have never actually put things together. “Is this the part A that goes into Part B? How is supposed to look like when it is done?” Very confusing at times.
Quite a few years ago, we bought a tall bookcase kit from Ikea and even I managed to assemble it in reasonable time. It went so well that we bought another one and assembled it in even shorter time. Experience helped.
Charlotte, are you out there? It has been a while since we last read your wise thoughts.
Debbe says HI to all the Village
Aw shucks Old Bear. Yes, I am getting lazy about posting, but have been reading right along. Oh boy, very glad to see a post from Debbe … How I miss her stories from the chicken house.
Are you having a nice Spring? Have you and Ann been putting in your garden? Spring flowers are lovely here, and watching the birds coming to the feeders is a great pleasure, and hearing their songs. I feed the birds year round — they need to feed the nestlings.
I don’t get on here much. And not sure where to ask. Any news on the book from the kickstarter campaign. I remember seeing it was almost done but nothing else.
