Thanks for that reference, TR; it was quite interesting.
The best ideas often have a catch. But why a photo? Why not just text the list and then Arlo doesn’t have to figure out her handwriting?
My wife and I do this. But I am the one that usually calls her that I left the list at home. With Voice recognition we tried texting the list, but I had to text back and ask if we really needed armadillos!
The biggest issue with the photo of the list is that I like to check off the items as I go. I have missed a few items because of that.

Neat article. It suggests another question. Does “le chien” make a difference in how a French person thinks of a [literal] bitch? Does “der Hund” [if that’s correct] become “das Hund” if it gets “fixed”? emb has always had trouble w/ arbitrary gender designations in such tongues.
