It’s Valentine’s Day, 2015, and it falls on a Saturday. You know what that means, don’t you? It means you won’t get into so much as a Burger King without a wait! Be sure to visit today’s A&J for my indirect thoughts on that one. Where do you get your ideas, indeed. Don’t get me wrong. I love a nice outing in a good restaurant, especially in observance of Valentine’s Day; I just make it a point never to go on Valentine’s Day! This allows for a truly romantic dinner in a peaceful atmosphere (at normal prices), plus it serves a secondary purpose if necessary: “Valentine’s Day? Don’t you remember that cozy little place we dined at last August!”
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Jackie…take one of your anti stress pills….I just did 🙂
…hell, I just took 2 of them 🙂 🙂
Already did, Debbe! Is Louisiana chicken farm looking any better? Seldom snows or freezes much, look at Accuweather for Dubach, LA. Large private lake on farm, beautifully kept buildings and houses, antique but nice historic farm house for help, plus other houses, one partner is older than me in his 70’s, his father in law is famous Baptist missionary, a contemporary of Billy Graham and other family partner, I am friends with entire family and I love them to pieces. Good people. They are fryers, not layers, I think all the farms in area are now fryer houses, lots of them there.
Jackie, if you’re reading this it means I wasn’t offended.
Can’t, I only have one left and roads are supposed to ice! Thaw is for Wednesday maybe?
Don’t you hate it when banks “protect” you from spending your own money? And leave to a stupid communist-feminist magazine to make sex boring.
Thank you for the link, Mark!
Jackie, I’m a little north of Detroit, but have spent time in the UP almost every year of my life. Residents call it “God’s country”, and I think they’re right. My favorite area of it is the southern shore of Superior, especially between Munising and L’Anse. I do like the Sault and its Locks, too, and the many springs and waterfuls. The bones of the earth show through in the UP.
Jackie…Westminster Dog Show is on…………..later guys
Sand, I will announce next time I am visiting Katy. I still have my daughter’s and granddaughter’s Christmas gifts, they bypassed house when Mike died and I didn’t have room to carry these enormous boxes of furniture to funeral. So, I guess I may have to show up there or they can wait until next year!
Whichever?
Ghost, they didn’t even have a stupid box to check, the communist-feminist magazine, not the bank for “daily”. I thought the”once a year” or “on special occasions” blocks were ridiculous, too.
JJ, there is a strip in here somewhere for you I know!
On second thought, the stupid bank didn’t have a “daily” either! They kept telling me on the balance inquiry that I had $XX,XXX.XX amount available and then the computer kept telling me I had “Exceeded my daily quota” and since I had not left house nor bought anything on a computer, I was about to conclude my checking account had been accessed by an identity theft specialist, like my American Express card was a few years ago.
I got “stolen” with this same bank card at Target in that big identity theft assault so I guess I have a conservative bank but why not a written check?

Dropping in with a short note to say surgery was successful. The kidney is “sleepy” and didn’t start working immediately. The delay is very common with deceased donor kidneys. Everything should start working normally within a few days.
We are all still stunned, since with my very high antibodies neither Elise or I really expected that I would get a matching kidney. This falls very nearly in the miracle category.
David, so glad surgery is over and pray that kidney wakes up raring to go! May the miricles continue as you progress and heal!
“Miracles!”
David, that takes some of stress off me because I was indeed worried for you and your family.
The fact that we have yet to meet face to face does not make you any less my friends and I care deeply about friends.
Keep on keeping on!
Love, Jackie
YAY David! Continuing prayers!
David, this is “in” the miracle category when you consider that transplants only began in our lifetime and dialysis within our parent’s lifetimes. Now for the day when they figure out how to clone replacement parts from our own cells so there is no rejection nor 10-year or longer waits!
Jackie, try this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vht_XsBtzHQ
It’s not the original music video, but the music is the same.
HEY, KIDNEY! WAKE UP!!
You’re welcome, David.
Jackie, either you went over some arbitrary limit yesterday, and the bank’s computer locked your account today, or the computer “profiled” your purchases and decided you weren’t you.
Like that Mark, now I am going to go lock up doors, make sure dogs are warm enough, find the 10# dog and put an extra comforter on the big canopy bed and go to bed with a sailing book that mostly takes place in Great Lakes but in summer and is semi-more than semi-humorous and too good a friend to fantasize about anyway.Sweet heart actually. That would embarrass him.
David
Prayers and luck do work!

Maybe both, Ghost. Good thing I did not buy that 20 gauge home defense shotgun. Although a boat shouldn’t be all that unusual?
So, what is it you do for a living now?
Just teasing you, Ghost. I knew it was both when it happened, given the Target hack which I had discussed with bank when it happened. But you know what, it still angers me that we must all have “limits” because someone steals our data, steals our money, whatever? We aren’t the criminals.
And as in the American Express theft, AmEx would not even file charges despite fact police had video of thieves using card, over and over and over and linked to specific purchases of alcohol, cigarettes, gas to $5,000 because they were juveniles. Give me a break, I was, the police were but corporate said it was cheaper to not prosecute?
OK, where is that other remaining pill?
Better find a more humorous book to go to sleep with! Love, Jackie
Alright, David! ‘Way to go…!
David,
Prayers do get answered. God bless us every one.
